An unique LED display communicating via virtual reality

An unique LED display communicating via virtual reality

The idea to make a non-standard interactive LED display came to employees of Danske Bank IT Group, and they trusted specialists and students from LinkMenų Fabrikas at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) with the project’s’ implementation. The new display was designed and made only in three months. This is a proof that university-business cooperation is not merely empty words.

“An idea to make a smart display as an open platform for software developers wasn’t accidental. Every day at work we are creative and think outside-the-box.  My colleagues and I came up with an idea how such display should look like, what functionalities it should have, and how we expect to use it in the future,” says Gražvydas Šedys, Markets IT team project manager at Danske Bank.

It is expected that at first this display will serve as a test platform for creative solutions. Now, you can play an interactive game on it – the display communicates with a player via virtual experience and helps the player to guess intuitively the storyline of the game. Later, AI technologies will be used and the display will have many more applications. Meanwhile, everyone can propose or test their ideas, create games or videos on the display.
