DesignSpark is excited to unveil its new podcast series: Mission Responsible. This series, co-hosted by engineer and broadcaster Dr. Shini Somara along with physicist Dr. Simon Clark, delves into the pivotal role of responsible engineering in hastening our progress towards a better world.
The DesignSpark platform empowers students, pro-creators, and professional engineers by providing essential design tools, knowledge, and resources. It encourages innovation with a conscience, aiming to spark remarkable breakthroughs. Through the new podcast, Dr. Shini Somara and Dr. Simon Clarke will highlight groundbreaking innovations driving us closer to a more sustainable planet. Among the featured advancements are Mumbli, a hearing wellness enterprise focused on aiding those with hearing difficulties and fighting noise pollution, and the European Space Agency’s Clean Space Initiative, which examines engineering’s potential to cleanse our skies and outer space.
Launching on 18th February, coinciding with Engineers Week, the first episode tackles the critical issue of electronic waste. It introduces listeners to the avant-garde engineering group Team Repair, which advocates for repairing rather than discarding household electronics.
