CERATIZIT UK & Ireland and STEM Racing UK have announced the renewal of their partnership, which will now continue through 2026.
The collaboration, first launched in 2024, reflects both organisations’ commitment to tackling the UK’s engineering skills gap, a challenge highlighted in the May 2025 STEM Skills Pipeline briefing from the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST).
Together, CERATIZIT and the educational programme STEM Racing UK, headquartered in Brighouse, are equipping students with the practical skills, insights, and inspiration needed to pursue careers in engineering.
At the heart of the partnership is the STEM Racing competition, where students design, manufacture, test, and race their own miniature racing cars. As the Official Tooling Partner, CERATIZIT provides competitors with workshops that deliver hands-on experience, advanced tools, technical support, and high-performance materials, giving young people a genuine insight into real-world engineering practices.
In addition, CERATIZIT worked with leading UK STEM Racing team, SBA Unity Racing, on the development and production of the wheels for their car. The team competed against 82 teams at the recent Aramco STEM Racing World Finals 2025 held in Singapore, celebrating third place on the podium.
Tom Milner, Project Director at STEM Racing UK, said: “It has been a fantastic 12 months working with the team at CERATIZIT, and we’re delighted to build on the strong foundations we’ve established. Together, we are giving young people the exposure, skills, and passion to see engineering as an exciting career path. The ‘E’ in STEM is often underrepresented in the curriculum, but this partnership is changing that by offering hundreds of students across the UK practical experience and a clear understanding of engineering’s real-world applications. That is vital if we want to close the UK’s engineering skills gap.”
Dan Atkinson, from CERATIZIT UK & Ireland, added: “At CERATIZIT, we are immensely proud to announce our ongoing strategic partnership with STEM Racing UK, supporting their mission to ignite a passion in engineering through the thrilling world of Formula 1.
“As a global leader in cutting tools, CERATIZIT recognises the critical importance of nurturing the next generation of engineers. STEM Racing UK’s internationally acclaimed program perfectly aligns with our commitment to advancing engineering education and sustainability. This partnership reflects our core values of innovation, precision, and developing the next generation of engineers. Through this collaboration, we’re not just supporting a competition; we’re investing in the future workforce that will drive the sustainable technological breakthroughs of tomorrow.”
With the partnership secured until 2026, CERATIZIT UK & Ireland and STEM Racing UK aim to expand their reach, opening doors for even more students to engage with hands-on engineering, inspiring the pioneers of tomorrow.
