The 2025 Bupa everywoman in Technology Awards are open for nominations

The awards shine a spotlight on the tech industry’s most exceptional talent, from the UK and beyond, and at all stages of their career journey, from apprentices to C-Suite. Now in its 15th year, the awards have celebrated over 500 role models to inspire and attract women and young girls into STEM careers and close the gender gap within technology.

As an innovative industry, new sectors and specialisms and therefore career opportunities continue to increase. The UK tech market has been valued at $1trillion making it the third most valuable in the world, confirmation that growth is not slowing. However, within this thriving industry women currently only occupy 24% of roles.

Maxine Benson MBE, Co-Founder of everywoman commented: “The absence of visible female leaders in the tech industry is a critical issue. Our recent report, in collaboration with Bupa, identified imposter syndrome and a lack of visible role models as the top challenges and barriers for women in technology (39%). Interestingly, the scarcity of role models was cited as a challenge across the board, with entry-level women recognising this in equal measure to women who have made it to the C-suite.

This lack of representation has a cascading effect and limits access to mentorship and guidance for aspiring women technologists. Role models serve not just as beacons of achievement, but also as tangible proof that success is attainable, providing the roadmap and encouragement necessary to navigate a field in which they are underrepresented.

The Bupa everywoman in Technology Awards play a crucial role in celebrating and highlighting role models at all stages of their careers. This is essential for inspiring the next generation of women in technology and removing the barriers that hinder attracting and retaining female talent. Such efforts are vital to maintaining the resilience, innovation, pace, and diversity that the technology industry requires.”

The Bupa everywoman in Technology Awards are calling young women in STEM to nominate themselves or someone you know, to be part of this year’s cohorts of exceptional role models and inspire the next generation of young women and girls into the industry.

  • The Apprentice Award – sponsored by SSE – is awarded to a young woman apprentice who is a game-changer and is excelling in her early career.
  • The Rising Star Award – is awarded to a woman aged 26 or under who is excelling in her technology career, making a valuable contribution to her organisation.

Zazie Carter, Chief Information Officer, Group Functions at Bupa comments: “We’re proud to continue our title sponsorship of the everywoman in Technology Awards. Technology, along with evolving patient needs, is driving rapid transformation in healthcare and enabling us to deliver a better customer experience that’s personalised, preventative and more sustainable. It’s also central to achieving our purpose of helping customers live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. Through our partnership with everywoman, we celebrate the crucial impact women make in the workplace and in technology and hope to inspire the next generation of brave, caring and responsible leaders.”

The 2025 Bupa everywoman in Technology Awards are free to enter and the awards ceremony and dinner will take place at The Westminster Park Plaza Hotel in London on 13th March 2025, after the annual everywoman in Technology Forum.
