IWD Power Hack: Improving women’s safety

SheCanCode, Dojo, Founders & Coders, Codebar and Girl Talk London have partnered for a free hackathon with the goal of enhancing women’s safety.

You’re invited to join SheCanCode for a day of ideation, coding and the creation of solutions that will make a real impact in women’s lives.

Aim of the day

Coinciding with International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrations throughout March, SheCanCode will coordinate the free hackathon in London, providing you with the opportunity to build a solution to help improve women’s safety. SheCanCode is proud to be working with Strut Safe to give an insight into the problems that need to be overcome and help guide ideas.

Strut Safe is an initiative to help anyone who feels unsafe when walking in public. The not-for-profit was founded by Rho Chung and Alice Jackson following the murder of Sarah Everard in March of 2021. They have volunteers based across the UK ready to take calls and stay on the line with you until you get in the door.
