Dr Shova Neupane from the Centre for Industrial Electronics (CIE) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) has been awarded the EPCIA Student Award at EPCIA meeting on 23rd March 2023 in Paris, France, for her outstanding postdoctoral work.
The EPCIA Student Award Committee assessed the interesting publication of Dr Neupane as an outstanding academic work in the area of electronic passive components. The award is granted with €5,000.
The EPCIA award was granted to Dr Neupane for the successful prototype development of an aluminium-based polymer electrolytic capacitor (e-cap). The e-caps were prepared at the university research laboratory (CIE, SDU lab) under the research project partially funded by EPCIA and successfully tested for a long time at 450V with 105°C. Those e-caps are competitive with DC-link capacitors in power converters in electric vehicles.
“There is a great importance of such R&D projects for the passive components industry”, according to Ralph Bronold, President of EPCIA.
He encourages students across all European universities who work in this area to apply for the EPCIA students award in 2024.
For all future applicants: EPCIA is granting the Student Award annually and is looking forward to receiving more theses or papers related to passive components. All details related to the EPCIA Student Award can be found on the EPCIA website: https://www.eusemiconductors.eu/epcia/epcia-student-award
